A Message From the Counseloraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Welcome! It's wonderful to see the return of so many old friends (students and parents/guardians) as well as so many new faces. As we begin our 2007-2008 school year, I'd like to make you aware of the Counseling Program here at Zebulon Elementary.

School Counselors are responsible for promoting successful academic, personal/social and career development for all students. I strive diligently to do this through the offering of the following services:

Classroom guidance sessions
Small group counseling (Divorce/Separation, Social Skills, Anger Management, Grief)
Individual Counseling

Parent consultation
Collaborating with teachers
Student Support Team meetings
Referral to community agencies

Character Education Program Coordinator
Student Council Advisor
Recycling Program Coordinator
504 Contact
Testing Coordinator

I extend an open invitation for you or your student to contact me if you have any concerns or questions. Students can arrange conferences by dropping a note in my mailbox, and parents are welcome to call for an appointment. I look forward to speaking with you. I hope this school year will be a successful one for all.

Zebulon Elementary School’s guidance program is a student-centered program that focuses on helping our little Cougars to become responsible, productive citizens of our society.  The school-wide program includes areas such as academic development, life skills, and personal/social development. Classroom guidance lessons focus primarily on the Wake County Public School System’s character traits.

Students have the option of meeting with the counselor individually, or in small groups.  Referrals may come from teachers, parents, or students.
