Robotics

Zebulon Elementary School
Robotics is a fun, exciting, and hands on way for
students to become junior engineers and architects. Many students learn
more effectively when they can see, touch and manipulate their environments.
Students can apply their knowledge of other related subjects, such as:
Science—investigating energy, speed, power,
and the effect of friction.
Technology—programming and controlling input
and output devices, using wireless communication, researching and sharing
information via networks.
Engineering— finding ideas and solutions,
selecting, building, and testing.
Math—measuring, using coordinate systems,
and applied math solutions.
Programming-the visual programming language,
ROBOLAB, that our robots use is easy for the students to understand and
change. The students can program the movements of the robots such as direction
and time. A microcomputer receives the updated instructions from an infra-red
transmitter that is connected to a student computer.
